Looking Forward

I went to school today for a staff meeting! Looking ahead to next year -just plain wonderful. As I was going through some things in my little music office, I found papers from before I became ill in January 2009! It made me sad to realize how much time I have missed at school. But now I can look onward and forward!
Yesterday I went to the doctor's to have my shoulder checked out. I had an x-ray done just to rule out any bone problem. I'll continue with physio again tomorrow and try not to do too much activity with my left arm.
Have a good evening!

Blessed Assurance

Had to give my arm a bit of a rest before I wrote up this blog. I played piano for both services today and practised piano in between at home, too, and I could tell. My left arm (especially the shoulder) was rather achy after this evening's service. It was so good to play though. What an awesome way to praise and worship God - through music and singing!
"Blessed assurance: Jesus is mine!
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Saviour all the day long."

Singing His praises,

Creation Sings!

This evening my niece already returns to Alberta. That time went fast but it was very good. Yesterday morning I went to school to join the staff and students for the closing chapel. Last year at this time I had made a DVD message for the students because I wasn't able to physically be at school. Now, a year later, I am feeling good and my immune system is strong enough to be in crowds. Praise God for healing mercies!
Last night my niece and I went for a walk on Eagle Mountain. The views up there are spectacular. I had never walked up there before. Wow! God sure created a beautiful world! What an awesome responsibility we have as stewards of that creation. Makes you feel pretty small, and yet so special that God holds each one of us in the palm of His hands.
OK, we're off to the library and to run a few errands. Have a good afternoon!

The Longest Day

My niece and I had a slow, relaxing start to our day. We went into town to run some errands, and talked quilting for awhile. We started planning a new quilt to make - maybe we'll have time to begin that tomorrow sometime.
Today was the longest day of the year - June 21 - first day of summer. I can't believe that next week will be July already!
Time for bed... I have to get up on time tomorrow morning so I can go to school for grade 5 chapel.
Goodnight!

Sparkle of Light

What a beautiful day it was! We had a garage sale in our complex and I participated, too, with the help of family and friends. It was just so nice to sit outside and enjoy the gorgeous weather. A perfect day to enjoy the sunshine! My brother put up lights around my deck and now I can hardly wait until it's dark enough so I can enjoy the sparkle of light.
My niece and I are relaxing now. We're tired from our busy day and last night my shoulder bothered me so much that I woke up from the pain. Ugh... that shoulder of mine! Tomorrow we will go to my mom and dad's to celebrate Father's Day.

Saying hello...

This afternoon I was at school again, joining a couple of grade four classes. I so enjoy seeing the students and just being there in that environment again.
One of my nieces from Alberta is arriving here tomorrow morning and she's staying for almost a week. It will be wonderful to have her company and I do have a list of things to keep her busy (...and she thought she was coming for a holiday!).
My supper is ready. Have to go...

Till next time,
Sandra

Ahh...rest!

Oh my! What a lazy day today. Yesterday I was on the go all day. I left the house at 10:00 a.m. and didn't get back home until 9:30 p.m.! I was at school most of that time, and then went out visiting after that. Whew! It was a wonderful day and I enjoyed every minute of it. Today the recliner was my favourite spot and reading was the most strenuous activity. I had my second massage therapy session this afternoon. Just trying to get that lymph drainage system going. I sure hope it will work and maybe then my shoulder will heal quicker as well.

Time

Yesterday I went for my first massage therapy appointment as another way to improve the lymphedema. What a wonderful way to make things better! If only all treatments could be that relaxing! I'm hoping it will also help my shoulder as well. That's my specific prayer request - no more shoulder pain. It sure is taking a long time to heal. Time... we just had a sermon on time this morning. "But do not forget this one thing, dear friends; with the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day." 2 Peter 3:8

Great is Your Faithfulness!

It's rather chilly here after that warmer Ontario air. I can't wait for a warmer, drier, and sunnier weekend. Oh well, it's not officially summer yet!
Today was a quieter day. Yesterday I was on the go all day - and it was good. This morning we had our townhouse complex Bible study. I'm going to miss that when I go back to work in September. Even in the middle of really hard stuff, like cancer, God shows His love and compassion through things like an Ontario trip and a weekly Bible study, etc. etc. Oh, how good is Christ the Lord!
"Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed,
for His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is Your faithfulness!" (Lam. 3:23)

In His love,
Sandra

On to the Next Step...

Home again - back in B.C. I had an awesome trip out East!
Yesterday we all got together at my mom and dad's house to celebrate some family birthdays. We had a fun afternoon together - lots of laughs!
This afternoon I went for another lymphapress treatment - my LAST one! The physiotherapist was pleased with how the sleeve had kept the swelling down so I'll just continue to wear the sleeve and monitor the swelling. Yeah - another step in the healing process. Now I can set up massage therapy treatments to continue to promote proper lymph drainage by the shoulder area. She also said the shoulder can take a very long time to heal and can be sore for at least three months. In my case I think that three months should almost be over. She told me it's a very slow process so I shall be patient and continue to baby it along.
Well, it's turned out to be a nice evening. I think I'll have to go for a walk.

Ontario connections

OK - I experienced a true Ontario thunderstorm last night. It was a doozer - but it didn't last long. It was pretty spectacular actually and pretty loud. And my friend was around to keep me calm. This evening I head back home. It's been a wonderful time here - I connected with so many people, both friends and family. That was just great! I feel like I've been away for ages and yet the time has gone by quickly, too. Does that make any sense?
Enjoy what remains of the weekend and once I get home I'll post up some new pictures.

Blessings,
Sandra

Ontario

I'm sitting in the public library and able to update you on my stay in Ontario. The weather continues to be sunny and warm. It's beautiful for going for a walk in the evenings. I am enjoying the time with my aunt and uncle and cousin and we're catching up and talking and visiting. Last night my cousin and I walked through an apple orchard. It was a good walk!
Blessings to you on your day!
